I thought mine would be quiet. Holy Moly, I ended up with 11 people in my little apartment. What a day! Fortunately, I always cook for an army so had plenty of chow.

My son flew back from his winter in FL to surprise me and brought my grandkids with him. I was shocked to see them.

Got a $75 gift card from Pet Smart and a cell phone!

Hope everyones day was as nice as mine!

My Christmas was fine. wifes family acted a lil crazy but i kept them in check with some jokes that shut there face! first of all my wifes grandfather is lucky he's old or he would not be getting the ole' nice treatment. I hated when you do all right things and people expect more! My family was great my lil' sis broke a Christmas present but it was all good! Got a nice belt that i can't stop looking at. got some cash for the LFS and some clothes! i basically fill like a grown --- kid! LOL

Christmas never seems cool until the day actually comes.

My christmas was great. Got all kinds of stuff. New helmet, couple movies, shark watch strap, battery tender, all the things a boy needs.

Hobbs - When you use your petsmart gift card make sure to get the online prices. You will save a lot that way!

Christmas was ok, mainly long. I hate to be away from home for so long. My fish are alive, my cat is happy to see me and my lizards are fat (they got a Christmas Feast of 300 small crickets to eat while I was gone).

My daughter got spoiled, but that's what Christmas is for. I got fish tycoon, haven't played it much yet.

Mainly, I am just glad to be home. Now, I just have to take down the tree.

Christmas is always a tough time to get thru for me. When kids are little there's always so much to do, things to bake, etc. Once they leave the nest and have in-laws to go to and have their own families, it gets very different.

I think you always remember Christmas as being really fun but sometimes it's just not all that fun anymore. But this one was great and staying busy always helps.

PS. Have you seen Abbeys Mom anywhere? I really miss her.

this year my family and i did something very different for christmas. instead of buying things needlessly for each other, we instead helped the unfortunate by delivering furniture and money and clothing to them on christmas day. it felt great to help people in need. my family and i also did a "grab bag" the way this worked was everyone in the family would go out and get two gifts to place under the tree- one joke present that you could buy or make, and one real present with a value of about 25 dollars. we then proceded to pick a present one person at a time using playing cards. it was very fun. the way my family and i see it is that christmas has gotten very commercial and it has lost it's meaning. this is why we decided to do it this way. afterall, christmas is supposed to be all about family and love!

It's funny, I had no idea that the US didn't have boxing day, till I read this thread. Hey, what do the Americans call the big sales after Christmas?

In the US we have our own sport on Christmas Day. It's called "eat like a hog and drink til you puke" then lay on the couch all day.

black friday is the friday before christmas where everyone "kills" each other at the stores.

Don't believe anyone about Black Friday. Black Friday is the day after our Thanksgiving that officially begins the shopping season. It starts at 5 or 6 in the morning and goes until everyone is too tired. Some nuts are in line the night before to get one of the bait and switch sale items (4 computers for $180 each is an example). A lot of things are only cheap because of mail in rebates. [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

Black Friday is supposed to be the day merchants consider themselves to be operating in the black instead of the red. What a joke. Like WalMart and KMarts aren't making money the rest of the year?

The few days between Christmas and New Years are now known as Boxing Week and we have 50-70% sales to get rid of all the Christmas stuff. I saw the toy we paid $60 for in sale for $20. Next year, I think I will buy her toys after Christmas.

Sorry...I've known what Black Friday (the repetitive kind) is for years. My wife and I plan it as our final shopping trip of the holidays so we have the month of December to not worry about gifts. We treat it like a date and get a baby sitter and everything. :)

I guess it's reffering to smaller retailers

Okay here's a better update about the hurt knee (not broken leg LOL) i went to the doctors after getting really sick yesterday. The doctor said my knee pain wasn't from my car accident. She did x-rays and found nothing wrong. Then out of no where she says "I think you have lyme disease." I was like WHAT!?!?! thats crazy! I had blood taken but i still won't know if i have lyme disease until next week. Wish me luck!
