I want to get some weather loaches as friends for my goldfish, but not sure I'll have enough room in the tank. I've seen conflicting info on the web, so figure I'll ask the experts!

How big are your weather loaches getting? Lots of sites seem to indicate they only grow to about 6 inches in an aquarium, but 10-12 in the wild. Sounds a bit bogus to me, but thought I'd check.

Thanks!
John

Btw - tank is (soon to be) 75g with 4 fancy goldfish. Would like to add 3-4 weather loaches to it - actually was just thinking of a couple, but seems they like to be in schools of 4.

I just lost my oldest one, had him for 7 years, he was between 10 & 11". I had him in a 180 gallon tank. I still have two but they are 7 & 8" each, he was the giant. Was sad to lose him.

My pair are about 7" each. Lots of fun to watch.

In my opinion you don't really have the room, speaking of bioload vs. physical space, to add more fish.

Thanks everyone for the feedback - seems like the weather loaches are a bad option for me. Maybe I'll just add a couple of extra goldfish instead.

Thanks again!
