help cut or disease?

Hi there, I have a sick dojo loach (I think its a dojo only its all pink) It looks like it has a cut across its back that goes partly to its stomach. the skin/gills are rubbed raw and its whitish, kind of like its swollen (imagine a cut on your skin thats swollen and separated). THere is also a section along the cut that is red. I have no idea what it is or how to treat it. Any ideas? Please help, its my daughters "Pinky" and he is heartbroken that he is sick. All the other fish seem fine. THanks :)

sounds like that fish was attacked by something, i'd get it out of the tank and in a small tank by itself, hopefully it will heal
