Question about RO systems

I recently bought an RO system. I have noticed that the PH coming out is not 7.0 according to my test kit. Is this normal? Its around 7.4-7.6. Also, I do not think it has a deionizer (spelling?) is that a big deal?

What's the pH of water straight from the tap? (might get a better reading if the water is allowed to sit over night prior to testing it).

I've never tested the pH of my RO/DI water before so I can't answer your question in that regard. But generally, the RO membrane will remove 98%, give or take, of the total dissolved solids (TDS) from the source water. A DI will remove the remainder. What's the TDS of your RO water? Hard to say whether the TDS the RO isn't removing (assuming you have no DI) would result in the ph levels you're recording.
