The town where I'm from has very little crime. Maybe a couple drunks beat each other up in a bar fight now and then. There are no gangs and no one carries guns.

Monday night a 27 yr old woman was beat to heck and raped by 3 men.... 21, 18 and 17. She was also robbed. She was in and out of consciousness in the hospital and was discharged yesterday. Last night she was beat up by a 40 year old man and back in the hospital she goes where she now remains.

Sure some strange events and I get the feeling she is probably dealing drugs to end up in the presence of such unsavory people. She met the guys that raped her that night and went to some deserted school yard with them.

Sound a bit strange to you, as well?

It seems like events like these really stick out in normally peaceful communities. I know it does whenever there is something big occuring here. I know a couple weeks ago we had someone that stabbed a bunch of people for pretty much no reason and was let go.

Sounds to me she needs to stop being out alone in the middle of the night and going dark places with strangers!

The two beatings are non-related as reported tonight. The second beating come from a boyfriend.

Sounds to me like she needs to stop doing whatever she is that puts her in these situations with these kinds of people.

I know I probably come across as the devil's advocate here, and yes it certainly sounds like she doesn't have the best of judgment and could be involved in some illegal activity, but criminy... am I the only one disturbed by people seeing this little blurb of information about a woman being gang-raped and then the victim of domestic violence and responding "she must be a bad woman" or "what a stupid woman".


Really? Seriously? Maybe we can't assume she was the holy virgin Mary from the little we know, but to hope she's learned her lesson from this?

I guess seeing this attitude is still so prevalent is what really saddens me. I don't mean to call anyone out, but... you know... I dunno. This is just so out of character with what I have seen before on this forum.

I hope the woman is getting whatever help she needs to sort out her life. I hope the rapists and the abusive boyfriend are in police custody and are prosecuted. I don't care if she did something that they construed as asking for it or not.

I just dunno. Sorry to get on my high horse about it, guys. Just really caught me off guard here. Flame away :14: .

Of course no one deserves to be treated like that. But some people put themselves in some very dangerous situations. I'd be scrared to death to be walking around alone at 4 AM much less going to a darkened park with 3 strangers to drink. In a perfect world, women could go anywhere and do anything the men folk do but this is not a perfect world. Women are vulnerable to this type of attack and always will be.

A young teenager that jumps in a car with a stranger is just as easy to be targeted to be killed as a prostitute. It's the situation they put themselves in
that's the most tragic because they just are not using common sense. Maybe I just grew up more nervous that others. I hated to even have the dad drive me home from babysitting his kids.

My youngest daughter grew up in the age of booze and drugs and I'm surprised she lived thru it as she sure made some stupid decisions during those times. It's like the common sense she was born with just flew out the window. She would have been that girl in the park eventually.

It's a bad situation for everyone involved and now those young men will be spending many years behind bars, as well, because their common sense also flew out the window.

As far as her piece of dirt boyfriend......he's probably been thumping on her for years.

All the guys have been caught and all are in jail.
