femal betta may be sick

one of the bf's female betta is not looking or acting too good. She is the momma of the only survivor of the last spawn.

The first of the week, we noticed she was kinda hanging around the bottom, not doing a whole lot. She would come up to the half heartedly to eat and then not much. Just a few days before that she was very active! We noticed today when she comes to the top to eat she is kinda sideways. What could the problem be?? What should he do??
Temp and everything is fine -- We have had her for several months now and has been completely fine -- she is in a tank by herself --

Have your given her any medication? Stress coat?

Yes I am pretty sure he put some stress coat in -- he has done water changes and everything -- we are at a loss --

my females sometimes get food sideways- i think that they do that in the wild to get at a good angle to catch it.
