Hello,
I am new at this so I hope I am going about this right. We have a tank with all Blue Gouramis in it.In all the reading I have done on them,I have never seen anything regarding color change in them.
Our gouramis can change their color and color pattern's very rapidly. Is this a common occurance in these fish ?.If any know's please advise ?.
Thank you mebmikey.........

They can change colors sometimes. Breeding, stress, food can all effect them. So, there are good reasons and bad reasons for changes in the way they look. Can you tell us more about them and your tank?

I have two gourami and both get darker with their moods - either aggression or stress.
One is a traditional-looking three-spot (first pic). When he gets dark, you can barely see the spots.
The other is a larger, more-marbled one (second pic). His spots aren't as visible, but when he gets pi**ed, you can barely see the striping....
My guys change colors depending on there mood. Ottis, the older but smaller gourami, turns the end of his fins a yellow color when im feeding them. But when Ottis, and Oscar the younger and larger gourami, fight, the end fins turn red, and he gets dark.

GG - any chance you can sex these guys from the pics ? I know sexing gouramis should be easy based on the sharpness of the dorsal fin, but I swear, I stare at these guys/gals and one day they guys and the next they are gals. Cross-dressers, I guess....

My male pearl is gorgeous, he turns almost light pink at times, other times when he's grumpy he's dark and has bright orage under his chin. Also the bright orange when he's trying to get friendly with the 2 females i have.
