I got a snowball pleco about a week ago. he is always in hiding but I think he comes out at night . I have no idea if he is eating, I heard they were pretty fussy .......any suggestions on what might tempt him to come out of hiding and eat? I have been dropping frozen bloodworm every other night when I turn out the lights but I don't know if he is actually eating or not. Will he eventually get less shy??

in a while he will get less shy. a hour after the tank lights go off, drop some zucchini and algae wafers in for him

do snowball plecos eat veggies? I kind of thought they were mostly carnivores

you can put some cucumber or lettace in at night or you can try during the day,but plecs are more common to come out at night to eat

Spirulina wafers would be good, along with regular flakes/sinking pellets.
i found that thin slices of potato go down good with royals, common, gibis, zebra, golden nuggets.but make sure to take them out after a while
