just wanted you to know my grandson looked in the tank tonight and seems i have a 100 HRP fry swimming around in there so i guess that makes you grandparents! lol i knew that pair was bonded but sure didnt expect anything this soon, i know they wont last but its neat anyway as i've never seen egglayers spawn

Congrats on the fry/feeders. I'm not too surprised they did the deed so soon, moving fish into a new environment seems to have that effect. I had moved the bonded pair into another tank for breeding, but the female wasn't quite ready and/or willing so they sort of fell apart. After a couple days the male was chasing her out of his territory. It seems better to at least have dither fish to keep the pair-bond strong for spawning. They had spawned several times before I separated them, but the eggs never lasted long enough to hatch.
