Is there any bottom feeder that would be ok in a brackish setup. I need something to help clean up after my gsp in between tank cleanings.

well, you could get a variety of different crabs and shrimp like the ones they sell in bait shops but that may not be ideal and though rare, they may have diseases

That is true. My Crabs keep their BW beach looking Crabitarium clean. But forget crabs and shrimp if you have any sort of aggressive Goby or Puffer. They are dinner. If I discover a BW tollerant pleco or something out on the wild jungles of the world, I'll name it after me and breed them for you all. :19:

Perhaps you could look into a fish called the Silver Scat. It should do a good job cleaning up the bottom since it's Latin name , Scatophagus, means " dung eater". They are reported to be heavily herbivorous but will eat almost anything say the people who keep them. They start out fresh but progress to full marine in most cases. Some species will do fine in brackish for life though. You would want to research this in depth however. These ones are reported to get to only 4.75 inches or so, being a far cry from the more common 12 to 16 " species. They are a schooling fish and should be kept in groups of 4 or more. The only problem with that is if you do that, you now have a scat tank with a gsp instead of a gsp tank with a cleaner.
Good luck.
How big of tank???
If it is bigger you can go ahead and get a columbian cat well a group of them..

Sorry for your GSP. May he RIP.
BW swimmers have to "feed the need" and tread on any thread with out looking. Ooops. (Here I go ) You'll do fine. Let us know when you decide to start BW again.
You can get mini crabs from petsmart.

columbian shark would be good, although it is 12 inches, if you have bumblebee gobies in a 20 gallon like me than crabs would work

Dragon gobies are 1 foot and elongated and the largest thing they will eat is brine shrimp. they clean the bottom by scooping up sand or gravel with their mouth and spit it out, eating whatever food was in their.

Ok, are we checking dates? This is the second time this thread has been dug up. The original poster doesn't even have a brackish tank anymore. LOL
