I'm thinking i should just completely tear down my tank and starting over. This time with RO water or something. Since i had a problem in my 30g with fish dying before i went to the 110g i'm guessing a lot of it has to do with the water i'm using out of the tap. That along with my algae problem and a few other things i could fix with the stuff out it should probably be done. Suction cupping my drift wood, taking out the under gravel heater, making hill/curves to the gravel....

Anyway. i noticed a few fish with an eye bulging out then eventually finding it dead. Today I lost a neon out of nowhere and i didn't notice an eye popped out but it was probably something else i have too.

Levels are all non existent(ammonia, nitrates, nitrites,) but the pH is still high at around 7.4.

I added 5 harlequin rasboras the other day and have 1...but added 3 neon rainbows and they're fine. I'm just out of patience on solving the problems.

Maybe i have some kind of disease killing the fish? maybe the water is just too high a pH or something else i'm unaware of. I just don't know.

holy crap, i dont think ive seen anyone have as many problems as you!

you cant use pure RO in FW, you have to mix in some tapwater to replace minerals

Yeah i do seem to have a lot of problems... I remember when i was a kid and my mom had a tank and there was always problems with that too...maybe it's a family curse or something.

Any suggestions on what i should try? It's either going to have to be a complete tear down unless someone else has a better idea.

I've never used salt or any medications. Maybe i should use something to help prevent anything that my fish might likely be getting.

As i think it has to be some kind of disease.

Its not a high ph problem at only 7.4.You have pretty much every other piece of equipment, maybe a UV sterilizer could wipe out any mysterious buggys you may have that are causing this crap..Other then that,Im stumped.

Umm, how about maybe the water has living organisms- like the kind that make it so you can't drink it? My husband is from St. Petersburg, Russia, and you definitely can't drink the water there.

I'm sure you drink the water there, but that was an idea that popped into my head. Can you get a water quality report from your city/town?
