i know that wild sailfin mollies inhabit fresh, brackish, and coastal marine waters, but would they do well in a marine tank? does anyone have any experience with keeping them in a fully saltwater aquarium? thanks

I personally don't have experience but I do know they will survive just fine. My LFS used to keep mollies in their marine tanks all the time. So yes, you can keep them in a marine tank but with so many colorful fish to choose from why do you want mollies?

should be alright, watch for a few days to make sure theres no aggression though, and that the mollies dont nibble corals

if they've been raised in fresh water, don't just instantly throw them into saltwater. add a little bit of salt to their tank, or aquarium receptacle, until it's close enough to marine level so that they won't go into shock.

Actually, if you are wanting to setup a marine tank then setup the marine tank. If you want to add mollies to it then you need to slowly drip acclimate them over a period of about 6-8 hours if they have been raised in freshwater.
