I recently went to the local Wal Mart and purchased a 'shark', or that was what the clerk said. When I got home he went crazy and he wouldn't eat for half the day, then when he finally settled down my husband looked at it and he began to laugh while saying "You paid my hard earned money for a fish that I could've caught in a lake some where". I was dumb-founded as I asked what kind he thought it was, then when he said Catfish I was embarrassed. So please, if someone could, e-mail me the information to find out just what kind of animal I have in my tank. Thanks annaetoy@charter.net

That's not going to be quite enough information to answer the question, however I highly suspect you purchased a Colombian Shark Cat. Unfortunately for you these get quite large, aggressive, and require brackish water all the way to full salt water when full grown. I certainly hope you are prepared to set up a 125gallon or larger salt water tank in the next few years.

There are a few fish in the trade that they call sharks, such as the Columbian Shark
