Well, I knew the storm was coming but I didn't think it would get here quite that fast. I was sitting here composing a reply when lightening struck right beside the house. I ended up getting a small shock from it. Fingers were tingling, wrist hurt, and I now have a nice little headache. Glad everything is grounded.

Scarey. Lightening hit my house two weeks after I bought it and when it hit, it knocked the phone right out of my hands. I know all about that tingling.

wow I am glad you are ok!! Lightening can be very scary -- when I was alot younger I worked on a horse farm, when the storms came -- we needed to get the horses that were working into the barn and so forth -- we were scrambling -- this woman who worked there - had just sent a horse into the back of the barn and she was standing in the doorway -- she was hit by lightening and thrown to the end of the barn -- not sure how many feet - but alot -- I was standing in the tack room half way down the barn -- my feet burned a little be and toes tingled -- believe it or not -- she lived -- she has 3rd degree burns on 25% of her body -- trouble with her heart for awhile -- her hearing was never the same -- and a couple of her teeth had to be pulled -- I can't remember the exact reason now.
I have always had a healthy respect for lightening since then

Last summer my uncles farm was struck by lightning and he lost over half his herd of cattle. I think it was around 50 head of cattle. I used to have pictures of it. It was really nasty looking.

So, how is the tingling man this morning? Are you OK now?
Just think, you're probably running AC/DC right now.

Doing just fine. I think it was just a minor shock, nothing major. I think what it was is that it just hit close to us and I got a bit of a residual shock.

First off I'm glad you are okay..
When I was 12 and living in Oklahoma we had what was called a ground strike. That is where the lighting goes from the gorund up. It traveled through the alarm system in our house and out the corner of my room. It blew a 4 foot hole in the corner of the house. Worst part was the idiots when they istalled the alarm system wrapped the wire around nails driven into the studs. The charge drove the nail head first into the far wall of my room about 20 feet away, if I had been standing up and not assleep I would have looked like someone had hit me with an M16 on full auto..
Ought to see if Mom and Dad still have the pictures it is an interesting site.
