I have bba which I'm treating with Flourish Excel as recommended here and while it will diminish some, it comes back strong despite continued efforts.
I keep trying to find True SAE's, but the only things any stores in the Maryland area seem to have are Flying Fox they seem to think are SAEs. Even the experts don't seem to know better.
Anyone know where I can get some True SAEs asap?
Thanks,
Jim
I got mine at petco lol, so maybe there?

Turns out there's one right around the corner from work. (Looked it up when I saw your reply).
I'll stop by there right after work.
Wish my good fortune (because luck has many faces).
Thanks,
Jim
Sorry for the reply busy, glad to hear its around the corner, and good luck =D

The most obvious difference that true SAE's have is that the black stripe extends right into the tail and their fins are see through and do not have a milky white sheen to them. Keep these two things in mind and you can't go wrong :19: :19:

I've been doing some info gathering, looking at pictures and descriptions so that I can ID them when I see them.

I'm in Frederick Maryland. I could easily get to Lancaster, but the distance for the fish would be a bit much I suspect.
Just printed out photos of the different types of fish mistaken for the SAE along with the true SAE pic and took that and some additional info including scientific names to the local fish store.
Was told that when they order true SAE they end up getting everything other. He said he would talk to the supplier next time he orders.
I was tempted to suggest they educate their supplier with the info I brought or find a new supplier.
If I order something I expect to get what I order and will not accept something "instead, because that's what's available". Especially when it is something for a special purpose and the substitute will not do the job.
I'm also getting slightly disappointed since I've asked him about them before and told him before the ones he has are not the same species as what I'm looking for.
Usually the local guy knows his stuff, in this case ... well, that's why I provided the pics and info.
Anyone else got suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim
