Can someone please suggest smth bright and decent-sized as a centerpiece for my tank (sig). I have about 15" of space available. I wanna get two platies and... smth else, but I've looked at pretty much everything and I just don't know - call me confuzzled. Any suggestions will do - but think first if they'll get along with my existing fish.
Thx.

The pearl gourami will make for a good centerpiece.

The 1" per gallon rule is at best a very loosely applicable guide. There are MANY other factors that contribute to the maximum possible bioload.

I just realized that you already have a pearl gourami in your tank. That could be your centerpiece fish already. Maybe adding another 2 female for him should be good (assuming that your gourami is a male).
I dunno, but i never really liked mollies or platies that much from my personal taste. I'd go for some blue rams or other dwarf cichlids.

I would agree, the gourami is your centerpiece fish.

Your gourami and pleco will become your two centerpiece fish soon enough, especially as they mature.

Like stated above, the pearl is your centerpiece.

If he isn't big enough yet to look like one he soon will be.

Not to pile on here, but I'm with the gang. The gourami will make a great centerpiece.

I used a gourami as the center in my first tank and it worked out great. He swam around like he owned the place and looked great doing it.

Why not go with a pair of dwarf cichlids such as rams, apistos or kribs? They would make nice centerpeice fish for the bottom half of the tank while the pearl gourami would make a good centerpeice fish for the top half of the tank.
