I love goldfishconnection. I've gotten a lot of stuff from there over the years. They have some pretty nice food, but it's a small operation.

i had one that looked like Trotter in that link, the goldfish was born in 1972 or something near that, and i bought him in 2004, he died a month after i got him since the store said he would be fine in 75f, but he got swimbladder from the temperature
there are some cool fish on there. If you sign up for their email news letter about half way down on the left side, they will email you when ever they have a goldfish auction. Some of those fish are very nice looking, but I can not belive how much some people will pay for a goldfish... 500 bucks for a oranda is a bit out of hand, lol.
thanks for sharing that link.

Swim bladder/digestive system problems are not really temperature issues, but usually water quality or food issues. Considering how high end some of those goldfish are they will be pretty sensitive to both. The care requirements of fish like that are more demanding than one of the same breed from the LFS.

Hummm, Can I say that I don't like those fishies? They don't seem very "natural" to me... But I'm not a goldfish lover too... Sorry... :11:

Neither am I. Never saw one yet that didn't have a line of poop hanging from it. I just tossed that link there for those that do like them.

I like goldfish and even I don't like half the breeds and individuals on there because of how severely they are affected by their 'improvements'. I just look for good ones in the LFSs. Healthier, cheaper, and I actually get to see them in person before buying them.
I don't have much experience keeping them. I have always wanted to keep a coldwater tank. Aye, this gives me Ideas, and another bad case of MTS...

I think they are pretty colors. But some of them look deformed but I do not know that much...
