2.5 gallons

I'm going to be setting up a highly planted 2.5 gallon tank soon. Would it be safe to stock it with 3 guppies (2 females, 1 male)? I wouldn't leave them there for long, just long enough for them to breed, and then they'd be put back into a 10g or my 40. I just want to isolate those fish for breeding purposes.

yeah, sounds ok. i find, however, they breed on there own quite well! are ya going for a certain mix? like, do you want that male, and those females? just wondering, ya seem like a guppy buff

I had 6 females and 2 males in my 10g but the males didn't seem to want to mate much so I just fed them to my Jack Dempsey. But yesterday my friend gave me two BEAUTIFUL males that are his own breed. Two of my females have very nice tails and I want one of those males to breed with them.
