View Full Version : more food for my ray?

right now all i have fed my ray since his arrival in my tank has been small amounts of fresh blood worms and krill. i tried some squid and clam he did not like either of thoes. what other options are there for foods?

Try healthy live shrimp with him. Rays like to eat Crustaceans, so they may tempt him. Grass Shrimp have very little nutrition, so perhaps one of the popular shrimps in the hobby would be a better choice.
Also, you might try white fish flesh from the grocery store.
I suspect he shunned the squid and clam because he didn't recognized that kind of marine food.
I know there are prepared foods out there for rays, so you may want to add them to the menu.

thank you dave ill try the fish from the store, but if glass shrimp are low in nutrients, what other types of shrimp are available at a cheap price? Sorry I just know nothing about what kind of shrimp are out there or how big they are
