Well, I have a 10 gallon aquarium, it has to be my first successful try. Lol. I didn't realize that, when beginning, bigger was better, and started with a two gallon, over stocked, learned my lesson, got better. Well, anyway.

Here's my question!

My girlfriend lives with me, and she loves lizards/turtles/amphibians/reptiles anything like that, while I love fish. I was hoping to make some sort of tank that could allow us both of our passions while not taking up too much space. I only need a few fish to be happy, and one animal should humor her. Thing is:

What can I safely put into a tank together and make sure that it is a friendly habitat for the animals? Safety comes first, and I want to make sure I don't do anything stupid by combining animals that were never meant to be together.

Any suggestions of combinations? I don't know what animal to put in the tank with fish that won't go after/eat the fish.

Possibly the whole idea is horrible? Not sure! Need advice. Thanks!

It's not only the animal going after the fish you need to look out for, it's also the fish going after the animal, so you have to be very cautios when choosing the right ones.

Other than that I don't have much advice to offer, except to google for paludarium setups and see what other people have kept successfully. If either of you are into orchids or other tropical plants, that would also be a nice way to combine 3 things into one without taking up too much floorspace if you build it high instead of wide ;)
