I am sure someone was under the influence -- but OMG it is a living breathing creature and does not deserve anything like that!!! I hope they find out who did it and prosecute to the fullest!!!

kids with the cat are close to getting off free, in court some guy said that it was just a cat, no big deal, and alot of people got pizzed off at that statement. alot of people just said they were kids, didnt know better. if it was a 2 year old, it was probably a mistake, but kids at 10-12 years old? they even broke into the familys house and killed the cat there
Disgusting. Just disgusting.

about 5 years ago i took a molly in a 5g tank to school for biology to explain how a molly could withstand saltwater and freshwater, and after everyone was running after me wanting to kill the fish. i ran like crap to my car and drove the poor fish home

That is really harsh :(
I've heard some pretty horrible things some people do to animals, and I just don't understand it - for me it's a creature that feels pain and I know I wouldn't want to be in their situation myself... I guess some people just don't even see them as real living beings...
People who do things like that to an animal should have the same happen to them.

I really can't agree there, because for me they're still people and I still wouldn't want anyone or anything to go through that... A hefty fine and jail/community service sentence sounds about right to me.
Unfortunately, fines and jail time do not stop crime, otherwise our jails would never see repeat offenders.
Harming/mistreating an animal is a choice but the animal has no choice. The initiator of the harm/mistreatment should have to experience what they put the animal through.
I am all for capital punishment though, so that's just my view.

But what happens when a abused dog bites somebody like its owner who was beating it.. the dog gets put down without question.. why is that right?

Really good point. Who can blame a dog doing something like that? I think the dog should undergo "rehab" with a trainer or foster family.

I know what I suggested won't stop them doing it again, but a person that can't seem to take into consideration another's feelings won't learn how to IMO, and in doing the same back to them, it makes us no better.
A lethal injection would be another choice, but I do kind of feel that would be a little harsh... maybe it would be a good option for a repeat offense - if they don't learn from the first one, there's no hope and the world would be better off without them.
And, I don't think it's right at all when an animal is put down for self defense. If that animal goes out and randomly attacks anyone it likes, fair enough. If it's acting in response to something someone's doing to it, that person deserves what they get and the animal itself shouldn't be punished.
Yeah not enough is done for pets that are abused but at least liek watching the shows on animal planet like animal cops or something they get in trouble but i like your idea gm what they do to the animal should be done to them

Society has it's own rules/laws on biting dogs and pretty much doesn't tolerate it.
Look at the dog that is in his own fenced yard, with signs posted stating there is a dog on premises and someone still enters the yard and gets bit. The dog is protecting his territory and his pack (family). But the dog goes on "trial" because he exhibited natural dog behavior when there was a threat. The idiot who got bit can go to court and sue the dog owner and it just becomes a real hassle for the owner because he has to (if he's lucky) justify the dogs' behavior because we don't like dogs that bite. Although we want the protection of one in our home from an intruder!
I'm with gm72. You starve your animal...you get put in jail and don't get to eat or drink for as many days as your animal had to go without.
Fines and jail time don't work for these people.
So, my wish is that for every person who abuses an animal, in the next life they have to come back as an animal and they end up with an owner just like they were.
Solve anything? No. Just call it payback, revenge or whatever.
Hey, let's take the guy who ties his dog with a rope in the back of a pickup and the dog jumps/falls out while the guy's driving down the highway and the dog gets tore up from being drug because the guy doesn't even know what's happening and let's do the same to him. Or how about locking the guy in his car in the middle of summer with the windows cracked for a few hours. And don't forget to put a fur coat on him first. Let him feel the agony that his dog felt as it died from the heat.
OMG, I have no tolerance for these kind of people.

wait the link wouldnt come up, what is the title?
I believe that people should get the same sentence as if it was a human. its worse than a human ( sorry this is some thing that kills me aty night)
you hear about n abused puppy. the dog is beaten everyday, but the puppy still and forever loves the beater. he thinks thta it is his, the dog's fault,he deserves it. i heard about some one putting a puppy on a barbeque, ( he survived, only becasuue ia good samaritan knocked the barbequers lights out)
and the puppy, the wholw time is wondering what he did, and when it was going to stop. thats why i never get mad at my dog, no matter what. i will never get that look from MY baby. never

I need to share a story with you all -- my mom, who as she ages is getting to be more of a rebel. anyway -- she came out of a store this saturday and this poor dog - she thinks it was a sheepdog - was in this car with the windows open a crack and it was hot out -- mom normally keeps copies of these little signs and such to leave for these people. Well, she didn't have one so she wrote a note that said -- "how stupid can you be leaving your dog in the car --it is hot out -- why don't YOU sit in the car and suffer like he did" and she slipped it in the window -- as she was walking to the store to give the lic. plate -- a voice yelled out "hey did you just put something in my car?" my mom turned around and told her she did -- she said that she probably shouldn't have -- but she likes dogs and that dog seemed to be panting pretty heavy and felt somebody had to speak for him as he could not for himself!! Mom got in her car and left -- when she got home she called me and said if I don't hear from her in a few days --she put the lic. number on the fridge!! We laughed and laughed as my mom is turning into a rebel!! But I told her she did the right thing as these animals do not have a voice and need one!! Mom also said she hurried to her car as this woman was bigger then she was!!! LOL

Hate to say it but that dog should have been crated and put in another room when having a house party. Those poor little things weigh about 4 or 5 pounds is all. Nice house guest, huh?

I couldn't agree more. It would have been the safest place for the dog. When you are having a party and people are drinking it's soooo easy to accidentally hurt a dog that small. Heck, you can be stone cold sober and accidentally hurt them.
I can't tell you how many times I've stepped backwards from the kitchen sink and stepped on one of the dogs. They've learned to pay attention and move out of the way...except my dane. She'll lay on the floor behind me and zone out somewhere and I have almost fallen over her. And then she gives me her "duh" look! Stupid dog. I can't help but love her though. She's such a twit, lol! :1luvu:

if some of my friend did that to my dog, i would eliminate him/her from the face of the earth, I ain't kidding on that! Don't care what consequences i deserve after that, because i treat my dog no different to other people. More like i treat and respect my dog better than most humans.
Utterly disgusted at this. F#$%#N @%$ F%@#K^@T.........
