I got a new 30 gallon tank this past weekend with an emperor 100 filter. Here was a list of what I was thinking about getting after going to the LFS.

3 Silver Hachets
3 Sarpae Tetras
4 Pristella Tetras
4 Zebra Danios
1 Large Angle Fish
1 Dojo Loach

Do you think this will be a good combination of fish to put into the tank?

Thanks,

is the tank going to be cycled beforehand?

Yes I already have it set up and am planning on cycling it before I added the fish.

This is of course a matter of opinion and what one personally likes, but I've found keeping bigger schools of just a few different varietes to be more pleasing to the eye. In other words, I'd skip 2 of the smaller fish you listed and get more of the other two, or even just pick one and get a large school of those.

Personally I favour small fish, so if that was my tank I'd skip the angel - which in all honesty does require a larger tank - as well and get one big school (20-30) of blue neon tetras and perhaps a harem of honey gouramis or sparkling gouramis and some small algae eater. This of course only if the water would suit them and with a substantially planted tank.
