I like this tank too :)

How do your gouramis get on together?

Thanks! They actually get along really well. I know it goes against conventional wisdom..but they've been together over a year.

That's good :)

I know sometimes you can get away with things like that - we used to keep a gourami with a betta, no problems at all.

It's a 29g that my husband found on the street. Someone was throwing it out!

That's a nice setup. You should snap some better shots next time, it looks a little blurry.

Hi, I have read some of the posts regarding Gourami. I have been searching high and low (the internet and all stores in my area) but cannot seem to locate a FEMALE dwarf gourami. Can anyone help me? I see you are breeding them but I just have males (four) and I love the little critters! I even trained my Paradise fish (gourami family) how to jump out of the water and take a squished snail on my finger! Thank you.

Hi,

I am looking for a FEMALE dwarf gourami. I have searched high and low without success. Can anyone out there help me? I also would like a FEMALE Paradise fish but hear they are even more difficult to find.

I am new at this and enjoy the site!

Thanks.

Thats a lovely tank! I've got a VERY similar setup, the same 29gal as you've got with a big oriental tree in the center, a cave on the right and lots of plants! I'm actually about to put in some more, but need to leave some ground-space for my little cory cats! I'll take photos when I'm back in town, as I'm headed out to search for an apartment in another part of NC right this minute!

I have one single female golden gourami and I don't think I'm going to part with her currently. If things don't work out, though, I might be getting rid of her in the near future. I'll let you know what's up, though :)

Hi Maggie3
To bad you aren't closer or in Canada. I have find female Gouramis in a number of local pet shops here. The females are picked up very quickly. Most Gouramis lovers in the area have a ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 males /females.

What is the floating plant in the upper left of the tank? I have been looking for a nice floating plant for my guppy tank and can't find anything at the local petsmart or petco.

There are two plants on the top left. One is fist sized, roundish- they love hiding in there.

There is also a long vine-like plant. Probably most people buy it and hang it horizontally, in one long string. I have just hung it from side to side of the tank, so it floats on the top and gives the gouramis some more cover overhead and place to hide.

I got them both at a local pet store. A regional chain called petland discounts. They have a website-petlanddiscounts.com- who knows, check it out!
