Wow thats a lot of tanks. Maybe shell dwelers? Livebearers, dwarf gouramis, a neon, or other type of tetra tank, african dwarf frog tank, maybe a emergency tank, or a breeding tank for fry.

Small shelldwellers are a great idea and so much fun... or maybe some crabs? Like the Sersama Bidens...also a lot of fun to watch.

Can dwarf puffers be kept in a 10g? They're definitely different...
I think they need atleast a 20 gallon, not sure tho

In a 10 gallon you could deffinitely do pea/dwarf puffers. I would only do 1 male and 2 females though, you can't have as many puffers as you would other species and they get nippy.
I'd second the shelldweller tank, love these fish and I've been planning a 20 gallon having either multies or gold ocellatus for a while. The only problem with these is that they can cost between 6 and 12 bucks here but get a trio or quad of them, 1 male and 2-3 females and you will soon have a nice colony going. I think escargot snail shells make really cool (and cheap) homes for them.
Another thing to look at would be the goodeid and other wild varieties of livebearers. They are deffinitly a different fish than the more domestic ones like swords and mollies. I've had a pair of Red-tailed goodeids in a 10 gallon before with other fish and from that experience, I'd recomend doing a species only tank. They get nippy.
There are the wild betta species too, many would do good as a pair in a 10 gallon and could even bring you a fair profit.
How about a dwarf species tank? With just dwarf/pygmy fish and plants in it. Like 5-6 habrosus/pygmaseus/hastatus cories, 6-8 dwarf rasboras, 1 Dwarf Gourami and plants like dwarf hairgrass, petite anubias, dwarf sag and the like.

Lamprologus occelatus gets my vote. get ahold of 10-15 snail/small conch shells and get ready to be entertained. These fish are bursting with personality.
Sand substrate is ideal for them.
Wow.. thanks everyone for the comments.... i think i might be going with the shell dwellers but do i need sand substrate for sure?

Sand is usually best, the finer you can get it the better though I think argonite sand is a good one with them.
I have seen a really neat shellie tank with no substrate, just a ton of shells, it was a 10 gallon and had, according to them, somewhere between 15 and 30 multies.

Dwarf puffers with a huge load of java moss will spawn, but you'll need a steady supply of snails to feed them.
Shelldwellers in a 10 will only lead to more tanks.
Cherry shrimp aren't expensive, are probably the best species for learning about shrimp in general, and will provide food for your fish if you can't find anything else to do with them. Same w/Endler's or guppies.
I have 7 tanks running, with 2 75's waiting to be set up. MTS is great, it's just like insanity; I don't suffer from it, I enjoy every minute. :hmm3grin2orange:

That's why I'm moving them to the basement. Today, the basement, tomorrow, the world... :hmm3grin2orange:
