I am trading my 8gb iPod touch on the 9th. I have two tanks to choose from. I PLAN on making it a saltwater tank. ( my husband seems to have other ideas) Which do you guys like better? They are both 55 gallon.

well, this might be a hard question to answer. Which one looks as if it has better lighting?

I really like the second one as well!! The extra drawers and the slide out shelves would be really useful!!
I am not sure about the lighting, but that can always be upgraded if need be.

IMO first one looks better, you would have to ask about the lighting though
I like the second ones stand, and the first ones lighting, if your getting it from the same person, maybe ask if you can swap the stand.

I can't decide so you'll have to get both. :)
I do like the bottom stand but does it have room for a canister filter? With that canopy, you'll want to use a canister.

I will add a vote for the second one, mostly because I like having lots of draws and cabinets for storage!

I'm not sure this is something anyone but you can answer.
I've never seen your house and couldn't tell if the dark wood would look better or if the lighter wood will. I'm partial for the black on but that's just my taste...as everything i own is usually black.
But i do like the features of the lighter stand...maybe you can stain it to match your other wooden things around the house as i think it's just too light colored.

Assuming the tanks/set-ups themselves are more or less comparable, I have this to say:
I think the second one is gorgeous. If I was doing a tank heavy on natural plants, wood, small peaceful schoolers, I would take it in a heartbeat. To me, it would make the whole set-up seem to be something that manages to just seamlessly become part of the atmosphere of the room.
However, I would pick the first one for a saltwater tank. Saltwater tanks are usually such captivating little slices of gorgeous ocean life, that I think something like the first that forces all the focus to be up on the tank would work better. I think it would make a saltwater tank stand out better as a focal point.
I've never had a saltwater tank, so I can't offer an opinion on it in terms of the nuts-and-bolts appeal of either.
Just my two cents, take it for what little it is worth.

Based on looks, and not knowing what your house looks like, I'd vote for the second one. But lets face it, either way you can't go wrong!:19:
