1 tank 2 stands?

Has anyone ever used two stands for one tank. Like, two 36 inch stands sitting side by side to support a 100 gallon tank? Never heard of it but not sure why it can't be done.

Sounds good to me but wouldnt one stand be less expensive. I dont know I dont have that big of tanks so never looked into what a stand cost for a 100 gallon.

As long as both stands are exactly the same height and you have one completely even and level top surface, I can't think why it can't be done--it's possibly sturdier.

Guess the same would apply to one 100 gallon stand with two 36 inch tanks on the same stand.

Loads of folks buy 2 or 3 cheap Ikea cupboards beside each other instead of purchasing an expensive tank stand.
