hi friends - i need your help

this is the first time i have joined any forum and a big hi :19: to everyone.
i have a small query and would request some help.
i wish to make an all-glass tank of size 12' width (left to right) x 1'6" depth (front to back) x 4' height (top to bottom). i need to know:
1. thickness of glass to be used.
2. since depth is only 1'6", can i use angle iron frame instead of braces, on top of tank, to prevent the glass from 'bulging' out.
3. any other precautions that i need to take.

As well with your questions I say you can could use a 1/4 inch thick glass but i am no expert. You can as well post your question on the DIY(do-it youself) section as well

yes you can and 1/4 in glass would be fine the angle iron worrys me as it would have to be welded at the joint and if it wasnt ground flat inside it may crack the glass due to imperfections in the joint.. i read ths wrong a 12 ft long tank you couldnt use 1/4 in glass youd need something at least 1 to 2 inch thick
