Hi Everyone!
Have purchased some polyp for my saltwater Bio-cube, the advice given to me is that they require 12-14 hours of light a day, well this has increased the algae growth as you can imagine. The algae has grown so much on the rock that the polyps are on afraid its gonna overcome the polyps.
Any suggestions??

Is it hair algae or what kind of algae? If it's hair, increase flow.

Provide some additional details of your tank (how long has it been set up, what is in it, water flow, etc) and water parameters.

Also, what are your nitrate and phosphate levels (and, if provided, which test kit brand did you use). Nitrate and phosphate fuel nuisance algae growth.

For starters you can reduce the photo-period from 12-14hrs to 9-12hrs.

Lighting periods depend on lighting mainly. A MH lighting system does not have to run as long as a PC system.
