Hello All - I'm setting up a 90G African Cichlid tank I just got (used). It has a built in overflow but I don't have any of the stuff for a sump/wet/dry, etc...

I do have hang-on filters though and I'd rather not go through the trouble/expense of building or buying a sump system. So...what is the best way to seal off the overflow? I'd like to do it in a non-permanent way so I could potentially use it at some point in the (probably distant) future.

Any pointers from those of you who have experience with tank plumbing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Use a square pice of glass that will cover the hole and glue it with silicone, give it 24h to dry

thanks for the quick reply Billy. One more question - what's the best way to remove the partition without damage to the tank to give myself room to put in the plate?

Also if there is another post that addresses all this can you link it? I looked around and couldn't find one.

A nice sharp razor knife will remove it easily. Just be gentle when you do it.
