so I have heard of people giving food like chicken and beef heart to some of their predatory fish but do other kinds of fish eat that stuff too? I have pictus cats, clown loaches and plecos - would they eat beef heart? I think it is in the frozen freshwater multipack I sometimes buy. How do you prepare it? Cook? Anything else? I figure if I can buy beef heartit is cheaper than buying it frozen and I can get other stuff frozen like daphnia etc that I can't get at a normal store.anything else that I can feed? Thank you!

I use beefheart for my Discus on occasion and they love it. I used to also feed it to my Pictus cats as a treet as well. You can buy the regular beefheart from the grocery store and prepare it, however I find it much less hassle to buy it in the packs already prepared. For the amount of times you would need to use it for your fish it really wouldn't be worth all the work.

All the muscle and fat needs to be cut away and ground several times. If you're thinking of trying it, I would ask at a local meat market to do the heavy duty stuff. I haven't seen beef heart in grocery stores for years but haven't looked for it, either.
Sounds like too much work for me, too.

I didn't know you had to grind it - yeh, definitely NOT doing that. Thanks!
