Hi all. I'm a complete newbie to fishkeeping having been given a 30L (or is that gallon?) biorb with light, heater and filter for my birthday. I'm slowly building it up and stocking it, following the instructions in the leaflet. So far so good.

I'm pleased to have discovered this forum as its reassuring to know that there is a wealth of expertise out there that I can tap into if (and probably when) I make mistakes or run into problems. Here's hoping I can avoid the pitfalls. :ssmile:

Thanks for the quick replies and welcome. This seems to be a really lively forum. Avatar is a pic of my huge cat, Salem, who fortunately seems to have no interest in fish whatsoever. His preferences seems to be for mice and voles, thankfully.
