okay, i released the bettas together this mrining, around 8. the male has been building up the nest, and the female is full of eggs.
however, the females fins are really frayed. should i put her back in the hurricane glass to recoupertate? i am afraid to leave them overnight, if the male has done this much damage in 5 hours. I have heard the breeding can take days on end....

It shouldn't take days...have you seen them wrapping?

Agreed, it only takes a matter of hours, not days. If the male is still building the bubble nest then you have released the female too soon. The nest should be complete when you release her. Have you seen the horizontal dark bars on the side of the female?

If you think that the male is being overly aggresive remove her. And at night, i would put the female back in the hurracane.
