My male betta has been blowing a bubble nest for about 2 days now, but it is tiny. like about 3 dozen little bubbles. he is extremely interested in the female, but still has not blown a nice big nest! i dont know if i should release the female, or keep waiting, or what.
What are the problems with haveing a small bublle nest, and is there any way i coukd encourage him to speed up the process a little? Should i release the female now, and see if that kicks him into gear?

There are stories whereby males failed to built any bubble-nest but still manage to breed. Your alternative on releasing the female could work.

If the bubblenest is not able to hold the eggs then you won't have any little ones
