I got a water sample from a local lake that has daphnia in it. Trouble is, I can't seem to get them to grow and reproduce. I have them in a small tank in moderate light. I have been feeding them small amounts of yeast, waiting for the water to clear between feeding. I can see a few small ones, but all the large ones are gone. Any ideas?

I've never tried to grow on daphnia, but from what I've read it seems that are a number of requirements for successful growing of daphnia. Check out these sites, they're pretty specific about how to go about it:

Hope this helps and good luck with your daphnia growing!

I solved the daphnia problem. They are multiplying like crazy. A 16 litre pail and a change in diet did the trick.

That's great! I have never had the patience to grow my own fish food.

What exactly did you change in their diet? I'm interested myself in an daphnia culture!
I have been feeding my culture green water and they are doing great.
