Well today I just made a trade with someone on Aquariacentral.com for some of my Apistos. I am getting a L104 Panaque maccus. They received 8 of my Rupunini's, as I kept the 4 that had paired off, for this guy. It will be going in my 42 hex with my other one. That has now lessened my stocking in the 55g. It looks more bare now as it is 8 fish less! Thats ok with me cause it will give me room to get a male or two of the cacatuoides. I have 3 females and want a male for them.

Sounds good. Did you get any mid water schooling fish yet? they will bring out the apistos more.

I love Panaque Maccus...have a little guy myself...remember to add lot's of wood as their primary diet is wood....also get ready for the mess as they graze on the wood non stop all day long. I'm always amazed at how much waste the little guy can produce LOL
I really wish you lived near me!! What a trade!! Panaque Maccus only cost about $5 in the stores here and Apisto's much more

Well this will be my second Panaque Maccus. I have two big pieces of drift wood in that tank. The little guy is always attached to it! Around here they go for $15-20 depending on size. I needed to downsize my apisto population anyways cause I have 2 pair of Rupunini's that are getting hostile with everyone. I lost one of my female cacatuoides because of them. Harassed her to death. They are each guarding eggs on each side of the tank.
