what do you guys have? I have parakeets, a Jack Russell Terrier, and my favorite my Hedgehog. I'm also really into reptiles but don't currently have any.

2 dogs (11 yr old GSD/Chow mix, and a 1 1/2 yr old black Lab)
2 cats
2 cockatiels (normal grays)
2 ball pythons (Wild types/normals)
1 corn snake (Dream corn)
1 leopard gecko (normal)
1 bearded dragon (I am really into reptiles too!!)
5 mice (I hope that I am not forgetting anyone....)
and a partridge in a pear tree, LOL!!!!:c10:

Wow everyone has such beautiful pets!! I especially love the horses -- I am a horse girl at heart --- had to give up my girl back in 2001 and haven't ridden since -- due to divorce couldn't afford her any longer --- Her name was HoneyRose Redford -- Registered quarterhorse and we had a great time together ---

LOL, yes my kids like them. I used to have pet rats too (which I liked much better than the mice) but my husband was allergic to them :confused: . The other furry critters here don't bother him though.

Everyone's pics are sooooo adorable!!

And Kingfisher, your chickens are so cute!!! I would love to have a bunch of them someday, and so would my husband.... but for the fresh eggs! LOL I would really love to have a group of Silkies... check out these pics at this link:

I have a reptile/amphibian menagerie going on. My mammal pets are:

4 dogs- 3 beagles, 1 mix (german shepherd/plott hound).

My husband also has pet mice and rats, but I don't have to much to do with those (you don't want to smell like a delicious little rat when you are pulling your boas out of their cages, lol).

What kind of boas do you have?


Hog Islands are my favorite boas to keep by far! I also currently have a normal columbian red tail. And Kenyan sand boas, if you really want to count those as boas, lol.


I was going to get a really freaking sweet pair of Rosy boas this summer, but once moving to a better place became a possibility I decided to put them off for now *sigh*.

Do you have any pics? I would love to see a pic of your Hog Island, earlier this year I toyed with the idea of getting either a Hog Island or a Nic, but decided to wait a bit. I want one so bad though, LOL!! Sand boas are really cute though, my kids like to search for them in their enclosure when we go to one of the pet stores around here that carry them.

A friend had 2 Hog Islands and they were beautiful. They were an awesome pinkish/melon color. Very cool snakes.

2 shih tzus (1 female and 1 male) and 1 female great dane. The littlest tzu was a rescue.

I also have 1 old lady (17 yrs) kitty.
I also used to have a columbian red tail and a bearded dragon. I loved that beardie. She was a really cool yellow color and she had quite the personality. She was a lot of fun. She LOVED dandelions and when she saw me with that yellow flower she'd fly up that branch and snatch it out of my hand like a puppy without any manners snatching a biscuit from you. :hmm3grin2orange:

Thunk.... THEY ARE TOO CUTE! I just love my pet rats. I used to breed them as pets but now since the birth of my daughter I cut back to 2 females.

Thank you. I was just going to compliment you on your dane too. Blues are so cool looking. If I ever do get another I swore I would leave the ears natural. I love the look of a cropped ear but I decided not to put a puppy thru that again.

Actually, there's more of a story than that...

There's a programme called Banzai, kind of a spoof Japanese game show, and in one episode they did "squirrel fishing" (two guys in trees, with fishing rods with nuts on the end, first one to lift a squirrel off the ground won) and the squirrel competitors were called Vangelis and Marzipan.

We did have another rat called Marzipan, who we bought at the same time as Vangelis, but unfortunately he passed away earlier this year.

We did learn about the composer shortly afterwards though, so now Andy keeps trying to convince me that the rat is the composer...

CAllain-I didnt know you were a rat keeper, and I can tell you right now that pics of your rats really makes me miss my old rat. He lived on for around 5 years and grew to the size of a small cat, I miss him dearly. Such great pets for sure
