I am thinking about putting together a tank with Dwarf Gouramis and German Blue Rams, along with Siamese algae eaters, some Corys, and maybe a couple of Dwarf Plecos.

From what I have googled, it seems they will all get along fairly well...

Anyone know for sure?

I keep Thick-lipped Gouramis with Bolivian Rams together fine. Practically the same.

Thanks!

Just one more question then, how many Dwarf Gourami Males can be kept together in a 55 setup that is Heavily planted?

Well i'd say that however planted it is they are in the same tank and will probably fight. If you get 2 they still would.

They get along fine, but I would only go with 2 max in a 55 gallon. A 4 foot tank is big enough for 2 males to have 2 different territories, but put an onion plant in the middle back of the tank and that will help distinguish (vals would work to but they are harder to keep IMO)

I have 4 dwarf in a 40 gallon heavily planted tank that gets along moderately. Fights are inevitable, most of them is fighting for territorial but they never do any damage to each other. If you can provide them with heaps of covers especially those floating plants they will do fine. Still, keeping 1-2 males will be ur best bet if you're not planning to take any risks.

I have two male Dwarf Gouramis in my 55 gallon and they mostly stay at opposite ends of the tank. At feeding times they may chase each other a bit, but nothing serious, and they then return to their own territories. I wouldn't recommend putting two in anything smaller than 55 gallons, though. You should be fine.
I also have a pair of German Blue Rams in the tank, but as I have just added the female today, I cannot say how it will work out as of yet. I can say that the gouramis usually hang out near the top of the tank, and the rams near the bottom, so I do not foresee any problems arising between them. I hope you will enjoy both fish as much as I do.:thumb:
