Some fish love playing and swimming in the air bubbles. Before I took my air bubblers out of my tank, my otocinclus loved swimming down the column and then up again. I imagine it's like a fish jacuzzi :c10:

That's exactly why I run bubblers in all my tanks. Fish seem to love it.
Rainbows come from soft flowing water and are said to like water calm. I put an air pump in their tank and they go nuts. They swim as close to the flow as they can, get pushed back and do it again.....over and over and continue until I shut the thing off. They can get away from it but prefer being in the middle and playing in that air current.

It's hilarious to watch! We were just sitting around one day and I looked over and saw him doing this. It's like a fishy rave! ha ha.

The "bubble wall" on the back of my tank is THE hip place to be, for sure. My fish love it, too!
Sometimes I can almost hear them saying to each other, "I'll bet you 2 bloodworms you can't make it through there without getting hit by a bubble..."
Cracks me up watching them so curious and intrigued... :)

OK, so you're stuck in a small glass box, the scenery and neighbors hardly ever change, what would YOU do for variety?

Jump in the jacuzzi......what else!
Those bubblers sure like to decrease the water level, especially in the summer months. Seems I'm constantly refilling my tank to the right level. But at least I know they have a good source of oxygen. I sure see more life in my fish when I use them.

Yep.....my fish all love the bubbles. One of my goldfish, I call her Bubbles now, will swim frantically head down in the stream. It's hilarious to watch.
