While checking over the apisto tank tonight I was watching two pair of my A. Rupunini's chasing everyone around the tank. One from one end the other from the other end. The males would go all around the tank while the females stay real close to their cave. Well I feed them with NLS sinking pellets and as I was watching a 1/2" Steel Blue eating the pellets off the sand I noticed the female in her cave picking at something. So I looked closer and realized there was eggs all over the topside of a cave! Lots and lots of eggs. I'd guess about 50 or so! After showing my fiance I looked into the other cave and sure enough there were eggs there too! About another 50! The male are so beautiful right now. They have blue and red throughout their bodies and the females are bright yellow mixed with red throughout their bodies!

I won't be able to get pics as I don't have a camera and I will be out of town for work for a couple days.

Jekyll & Hyde character change is a definate! They just tear into any of the fish that come close to their cave. More so the female than the male. he just swims at them till they move but she will chase them all over the tank!

I'm excited to have found these eggs! They had been guarding these two spots for almost a week and a half with no results so I thought maybe my water wasn't good enough for them. PH 6.9 KH 8 ammonia 0 NO2 0 NO3 5-10 and temp is a steady 79 F.
