i have a half hexagon tank and every other panel has a 1" gap at the top, the water is approx. 1" below that. I have found a guppy and a silver shark on the floor is this possible.......... im baffled.

I had this happen to me when I had a 30 gallon and had guppies in there. Do you have air tubes in the back of your tank? I did and They used to love to ride the air bubbles up to the top of the tank and then dash off just before they got to the top. I lost 3 guppies that way. found them on the floor all dried out. I felt so bad. What I eneded up doing is putting some plastic on the back to cover up the open areas. I saw that it also stopped the water from evaporating as quickly as it used to.

Anyway, that is my story. My solution is to put something over the open areas. I didn't have any more flying fish after that.

Those are some pretty courageous fish to jump out of one inch wide spaces.
