This is my first Betta that I got yesterday. I got him from Petsmart and found him in the back of the shelf. I think he's so beautiful!

Here's the my 16 Bowfront tank shot through the side. He has 6 xray tetra buddies for company. :]

Here's my best picture of Uncle Sam! You can't tell in this picture but his body is light blue. My friend thought he looked very patriotic!

In this one you can see the pretty color blue that Sam's body is as he goes up for air.

Thanks, Minderella. I'm so glad I got him instead of one of the numorous solid red or blue ones. Those are always pretty, but my favorite are unique fish. :]

WOW! Kaoticice, it must have been awesome to have that many bettas at once. But I can imagine all the work to maintain those tanks... I only have one community tank right now which means only one male betta but he's my favorite fish to watch.

Here's our male betta Freddy in a 5 gallon tank. He was camera shy and wouldn't stay very still so i only got 2 fuzzy ones. We've had him since last September. He shares the tank with a golden apple snail named Gary. I'll get some better pictures when he's in a better mood, it was past his bed time.

i miss the tank, and regret tearing it down. It had the standard 15w fluorescent light, CO2, and ferts, yet i grew high light plants with ease

Attached is my setup. It's a 2.5 gallon tank and you can see Mister Fugu Maki rising to the top for air. He is a funny fish who dances for my attention every time I look at the tank. His pal, the apple snail, is not visible. You can see what I'm using for an aquarium light!

There are five Java Ferns in the tank, and I am still searching for the perfect piece of (small) driftwood to anchor them to. (They are currently nestling on pieces of filter foam with their rhizomes above the gravel).

He needs a hidey-hole, I think. I can't find any that aren't sharp. Any suggestions?

I solved the hidey-hole problem. I finally found a piece of driftwood that would fit in my tank. It has a small "cave" running underneath. I filed all the sharp edges off with the wood a rasp and tethered my Java ferns along the length of it.

He is a very happy betta now. He has been in and out of the hole and wandering through the forest of leaves for an hour now.

Bad picture, but I hope it gets the idea across. If those ferns ever grow to cover the whole piece of wood, I may die of happiness. It will be beautiful.

I actually got heaps more in my garage (about 10 more adults and 100+fry), but i gave them all away and took down the whole set-up.

@ cocoa I love black water set-up and with all those plants it looked so natural. I've been trying to achieve those set up for my breeding tank and female tank, but it never worked out T_T"

Hi all, you all have great tanks, some of the pictures are great!, here's my own set up, take a look and then, if you can, help me with some questions!

http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k332/saurjusa_bucket/Pecera/Pecera005.jpghttp://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k332/saurjusa_bucket/Pecera/ReyRey003.jpg

So Rey Rey (The Betta) is a blue and wine with black speckels veil tail betta, and he has been leaving in this set up for about 24hrs! ...

As you can see in the picture, I have a few tank mates for Rey Rey, you can see in the botton left corner 3 neon tetras, there are six in total, and also 2 peppered corys (Phineas & Ferb)(you can see Ferb here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-envli2rxU

You can also see that I have a power filter in this set-up, which by the way is a 15G Bowfront. I know Rey Rey just got here but when he wanders to the water fall he gets drown all the way to the bowfront, It made me remeber the first time I got tumbled by a wave in the sea, LOL.

He seems to be learning to avoid the area, my question is if there is a way to reduce the current created by the power filter and still get the same cleaning, my water is clear, very clear, and it is the same water I loaded two months ago when I started cycling the tank (with 20% water changes every two weeks).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers to all,
saurjusa
