I have a quick question. I'm getting my 35G tomorrow and I don't know if it somes with a heater or not. So, if I put my heater (from my 6G - it's never on anyhow, temp just stays around 27 in 6G) in my new tank, will it harm it in any way? I'll find out tomorrow if it comes with a heater or not - so, the 6G heater is just a temp solution until I get a new one (big enough for a 35G)
What do you think?

How many watts is the 6g heater?

50W. I need 100W for my 35G, according to the heater guide on some website.

you want 5wpg with heaters, so in a 35g you should have a 150w

If you crank the 6g's heater full blast, it might work. However, its very hard on the heater, and the pilot light would be on alot

Agreed. Such an incredibly small heater would be a temporary partial fix at best. I think every tank that is housed in a location where the water temp eventually drops below where it is desired should have a heater. It won't kick on if it is not needed but will start up when the temp drops.

I keep it in my 6G w/o need (so far) just in case :) 50W in 35G would be for 1 day max (until I get a bigger one), and just because the fish that'll come with the tank will have to go back in asap. I don't even know how this moving is going to work, since I can't move more than 10G of water overall, and every site I went to recommends taking at least 50% of water when moving the tank. I just don't know how long it's gonna take to put everything in place and for water to heat up to at least 23'C.
Anyways, wish me luck, guys.

You could always, once moved, add warmer water to the mix to bring up the temps.
