Ive still got one of the small comet goldfish from the massacre that happened in the 90g, and he's living alone in his coldwater tank. He was always a darkish brown/light black, but hes starting to get orange allover. Normal?
I think so! Have you improved his diet at all?

Since ive gotten him, ive always fed him hikari pellets. Could that be it?

Completely normal. How old is the fish? I've read somewhere that this is normal for Goldfish as they grow from being juveniles to being adults.

He's young, 3"-4". I was worried he had a bacterial infection or something.
One of the petsmarts here sells indoor ponds cheap, and once he gets bigger i'll get him a pond with a few plants

very normal, my comet did the same thing, he went from looking like a minnow, to being a intense orange color in a month or two.

Mine went from a bronze to a bright orange and my silver one is starting to turn to.
speaking of turning their color to different color ,well i have a veiltail goldfish originally her color is orange but turns pinkish silver because lack of light is it possible to bring its original color back?
