help. question about my platinum gourami

I just brought 2 platinum gouramis home and after i put them in the tank i noticed on one of them its long fin like thing i guess its a feeler of some kind but im not sure, is half as short as the other. it looks like it was cut off by something. is this a problem? He seems to be swimming just fine, but im just a little concerned.

It should be fine. They're kind of like whiskers on a cat I suppose. Its good to have, but they can live without them. I think its technically considered a fin, but I can't see it causing a problem down the road. Especially b/c its only a piece missing.

their feelers are just adapted ventral fins and just like other fins they will grow back as long as the cutical isn't damaged, its very common for gouramis in community tanks to get them nipped off by other fish or sometimes they might get bent but in time they'll repair themselves...
