actually trim the stem to where it loses its fullness down from the top,throw away the bottom and reset it,hornwort doesnt root so just put a rock on its base.

Agreed. Hornwort is one of those plants that if you have a 12" piece and you cut it into 12x1" pieces you will get 12 plants. It is almost completely impossible to kill that stuff by pruning it.
