Need help with my new visi-therm heater.

I had recently bought a 300w visi-therm heater for my 60g aquarium.I set the heater at 82d last night and this morning the thermomter was only reading 79.My room temp is pretty cold at 64 degrees.Do i need two 300w heaters.Can i get some good advice on what i should do.One more thing is that i noticed a secound red line that is a little brighter than the darker line indicating what the temp is set at.The brighter line is indicating the temp is at 65.Thanks.

Sometimes the thermostat is a little off. Try raising the temp on the thermostat by a degree or two and see what that does.

However, before doing that, may I ask why you want the temp at 82? That's a little high for most fish.

Takes a while to regulate that much water, too. You might not reach that temp for a couple days.
