Howdy :-)
Would rainbows be likely or unlikely to get along with Apistogrammas?

Thanks for your help,

Rainbows swim more in the middle and top and the Apisto's on the bottom so they work fine together... I have had them both together with no problems

Make sure the rainbow you get likes soft water. Some like hard and apistos like soft.

Your completely right Ed... should have been more indepth with my reply...

The most common available Apistogramma's are fine on a neutral PH - Cacatouides, Borelli for example... these are also best for 'community' type tanks ... other specialized Apisto's are better kept in species tanks anyway with a few dither fish.

Rainbows also do great on a neutral PH and mine breed happily even in a lower PH (6.5) than what they should be kept at... Rainbows are very adaptable fish and are pretty much happy as long as the water is clean and the PH not extremely low or high.
