for the turtles aquarium. I think the stupid thing is already dead. I dont think Speedy ate him, I think it just died. It was realy active around the aquarium when I put it in earlier today but its been in its shell in the same spot all afternoon. I really wanted it to help keep the aquarium clean. sigh.

my snails, but they are aquatic, go in their shells and rest for a while sometimes. You can pick it up and see if it retracts into shell more or allows you to open the shell. If you open the end then it is dead.

I meant to update this days ago but Gary the snail is alive!! He went in his shell and didnt come out for about a day and a half. I kept smelling him and he didnt smell dead but I thought for sure he was then out of no where he just came out and has been active ever since.

Thanks, I'll look into those. He is aquatic and is in a 20 long. It seemed to be pleantly of room for him until I put the snail in and even though Gary is just a little guy (about the size of a half dollar) I suddenly feel like Speedy might need more room. The girl at Petsmart assured us that he could live his life in a 20 long because he's a little turlte but I'm not so sure now.
Anyway, I have never heard of CAE, I'll look them up and I appreciate the suggestion!

i have an apple snail and once he get trapped into the suction tube of the filter and i didnt see until the morning after. Turn off the filter and he fall in to the gravel he spend like 2 days inside he's shell, i think hes dead so i have 3 turtles in a pond and after 3 days he's alive, i think he's just tired of wrestling with the suction. First time was scared but then it was so funny, so im writing this and i swear i laughing to the tears
