I just wanted to ask everyone on the forum to try to be more tolerating against other members, their mistakes, typos and poor grammar.

Many members don't have English as a first language so why don't we just try to avoid typos etc the best we can and tolerate when other makes them. One can usually understand what another member is trying to say even if there are typos and it isn't written in perfect English.

It will make the forum a friendlier place for everyone.

It would also be nice if we didn't see "arguements" cropping up over people who do things different than we do. Offer them a better way of doing things then let it go at that.

Let's be a welcoming place and not one that runs others off because they do things differently than we do.

Hi folks...

I am always friendly and accomodating as I was raised to be.
My job here is to learn, and to teach from what I learned.
Thanks for remindig us all about tolerance.
Have a great evening

I agree, also worth a mention here is, in some cultures what may be regarded as humour or a complement may be taken out of context by people from another culture, so when reading and replying, this should also be taken into consideration.

I think this is what is happening to me. People don't find my post funny when that is what I intend them to be. It must be a cultural thing!

I haven't seen anyone being mean over typos, and have only seen a few "arguments" so I think we are doing pretty good :). It is always good to be reminded of these things though....so thank you for the reminder William. I have been in forums where some people are just ridiculous how they talk to people.....they seem to forget they were new once, this one is much nicer which is why I am so active here and just browse some of the others off and on.

Wait are we saying we have no tolerance for intolerance or we have an intolerance for no tolerance?

I think it's about tolerance of people not having tolerance for no tolerance people who have some tolerance. Or is it no tolerance of lactose intolerance?
Either way I'm not tolerating it!

Shoot, now the word has lost all meaning.

Lactose intolerance is the worst form of not tolerating. Sheesh. I am becomeing totally indifferent....wait wrong word....I am becoming totally intolerant of all this untolerance.

This is what I've missed on the forum. This camaraderie and pointing fun at. All we needed was NB to get it going again.

I think all of the currently active members are all good people and fairly tolerant of eachothers mistakes. If we keep up with how things are going the site will be in great shape. We just have to make sure we are intolerant of non tolerant individuals in the future as the site grows.

That enough! I can tolerate all this silliness. It's really hard to type from the floor. I will not tolerate any more!

Hey....William...now would be a good time to give me back my smileys!!! This way, if I ever say something someone isn't sure of how I am feeling I can give a smiley!
I MISS MY SMILEYS!

kimmers318

There used to be a box on the left of area posting in that you could choose from many different smileys to place whenever you wanted one. I can't find it anymore! :(
My hard drive (brain) is too full already to try to add and remember all the different symbols that do different emoticons so I need the "emoticons for dummies" version! LOL

Hmmm I thought I psoted this but seems like I didn't
There are more smileys if you click the more smileys link in the smileys box. You only se this box if you use the post reply function not if you use the quick reply function.

Allthoug after reading jeffs post i see that many of them don't t load like they should. I will look into it.

I fixed some of the smileys that didn't work and removed the rest. I'll try to introduce some new ones soon. Any ones in particular you want kimmers or just the old ones back?
