Hi this is my first post. Any information that you guys can give me would be absolutely fantastic. To start, I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 Red Wag Platy, 6 Red Wag Platy Fries, 1 Yellow Mollie (Lyretail), 1 Tequila Sunrise Guppy, 1 Dwarf Gourami, 1 Smaller Platy (1" fully grown maybe), 6 Neon Tetras and 1 Rubber Lipped Pleco. I have three long fake plants, a few stacked rocks where the pleco hides, and a rock little tower thing (maybe 6" high and 3" wide). I would really love to add a Blood Parrot Chiclid because I read about them and would love to have a fish with such personality in my tank! I browsed around and it seems that most websites say that each Blood Parrot should have about 10 gallons between the next blood parrot. This obviously is in regards to housing more than one Blood Parrot Chichlid. Are my fish taking up too much space for me to put a Blood Parrot in the tank or would I be able to keep just one of these awesome fish.
Thanks so much...

welcome to ac!
bloodparrots need at least a 55g tank, your tank is already stocked
I wouldn't add anything else to your tank. If you can afford to start a big 50+ gallon tank, they would be great centerpieces. My dad has about 3 of them in his 55g and they're wonderful to watch.
A 10 gallon is to small for your pleco.

You have got to be kidding. You have 18 fish in a 10 gallon and want to add a parrot that will get from 6-8".
Please! Do some research before buying any more fish.

<steps on soapbox>
Fish are animals - before keeping animals research should be done - your 10 Gallon is waaaaay overstocked <steps off soapbox>
Finding this forum is your chance to set things right for whatever reason your stocking is all wrong - maybe bad advise who knows - but please stick around and learn more about keeping fish and stocking.
Instead of spending money on more fish how about using that money to buy a bigger tank? There are many second hand tanks around... spoil your current fish by giving them the space they deserve. If that is not a possibility maybe sell some of your fish so that the remaining can live happily in a 10 Gallon tank.
